Asthma Education Program





IMAA is pleased to provide our patients who have asthma an in-depth teaching program to help them better understand their asthma, its causes, treatment, need for monitoring and long-term consequences of having this disease.


Inflammation of the airways (bronchial tubes) is generally the cause of bronchospasm (wheezing), and often triggers for wheezing my be identified.


Classes are instructed by a Certified Asthma Educator.

 Identifying signs and symptoms of asthma flare-up

 Understanding triggers and how to avoid these triggers


 Lung function monitoring

 Development of your personal asthma action plan



The program has four sessions each of approximately 1 hour.


Your physician will need to refer you to the Asthma Self-Management Program.
